Representative Substation Projects

This project involved the conversion of an existing 69kV AIS ring bus to a Siemens BAAH indoor GIS configuration within a highly constrained substation footprint. The upgrade enabled increased capacity, improved reliability, and optimized use of limited space.
Project Scope:
-
Conversion of existing 69kV AIS ring bus to 230kV indoor GIS configuration bus to 230kV indoor GIS configuration
-
Installation of two new 230/69kV, 224 MVA power transformers
-
Design and integration of associated disconnect switches, instrument transformers, and structural supports
-
Engineering of foundations and oil containment systems
-
Design and construction of a new control house to support modern protection and control systems
-
Development of detailed cutover sequencing and coordination with remote-end upgrades
-
Replacement of the existing fire pump house
-
Installation of all required structural systems and foundations
-
Completion of comprehensive electrical studies, including:
-
Grounding analysis
-
AC/DC system design
-
Lightning protection
-
Cable sizing and routing
-
Key Outcomes:
-
Increased Capacity: Enabled integration of higher-voltage infrastructure and additional transformer capacity
-
Optimized Footprint: Successfully delivered a high-density GIS solution within a space-constrained substation
-
Enhanced Reliability: Improved system performance through modernized equipment and protection schemes
-
Seamless Cutover Execution: Minimized operational disruptions through detailed planning and coordination
-
Future-Ready Infrastructure: Established a scalable foundation for future system expansion and upgrades
